Pregnancy Calendar - 35th Week
- Take the time you have at your disposal, filling it with activities you enjoy.
- Stretch and massage your feet as it will provide great comfort.
For the mother:
- During the first two trimesters, the amount of blood in your body has increased by 50%.
- The volume of blood will remain the same until the time of delivery.
- The contractions reappear more regularly now and you may worry that they mean the beginning of labour.
For the baby:
- If the baby was born during this week, it would have great chances of survival without any major problems.
- The fetal lungs are fully developed.
- The embryo continues to fatten, and store greater amounts of fat in the body.
- The central nervous system of the fetus has developed and is now alert most of the time and has better awareness of his/her immediate environment.
- The creation of the digestive system of the fetus is nearly complete.
- The head of the fetus is probably located close to your pelvis.
- The size of the fetus (head-tail distance) now reaches 33cms, and weighs approximately 2.55 kilograms.
