Pregnancy Calendar - 20th Week
- Plan a B-level ultrasound and a Doppler ultrasound.
- Exercise mildly! Yoga and walking are suitable!
- Talk to your baby! Now it can feel the pulse of your heart and the sound of your voice!
For the mother:
- The change in the size of your abdomen is now rather more significant and is likely to affect the sense of balance and to have shifted your body mass centre.
For the baby:
- The nerve cells serve all senses of the fetus - sight, taste, smell, hearing and touch - which develop in specific regions of the brain.
- Soft pink nipples make their appearance in the mammary glands of the embryo’s breast.
- Along with the number of neurons in the fetus’s brain complex ramifications for the development of thought and memory are growing.
- Most of the bones in the fetus’s body have grown stronger.
- The size of the fetus (head-tail distance) now reaches 14-16cm, and weighs about 300grams.
